Throughout GNHLUG's life there's be an active voice against membership fees. The reasons voiced have been:

  • We don't need membership fees.
  • It would create a barrier-to-entry in the group. -- BenScott - 08 Aug 2007
  • We're "more real" if we're all volunteers.
  • Money corrupts and makes people think funny.
  • It costs money to handle money.
  • We haven't had a need for serious money (yet). -- BenScott - 08 Aug 2007
  • We are family....do you charge your family?

In general, this has also applied to all of Www.OurChapters too.
