Starting A Group
- Determine what exists currently
- Determine what members are currently missing out on meetings and try to get them involved (in particular)
- Pick a date and time - defer to current if applicable
- Make a list of locations in the group's local area that can, more or less, gaurantee we'll be able to use for meetings 80% of the time - Give preference to the location that has been used most often - if an existing group.
- Document/Locate documentation on current infrastructure
- Identify missing infrastructure and delegate responsibility for each item
- Identify local businesses that may have people who wish to present
- Find "filler" presentations for the meetings in which there are no guest speakers (what are we good at, what do we have experience with?)
- CreateAWebSite - Create a "public exposure" web site for the chapter/group.
- CreateAMailingList - Create a (possibly open) mailing list so all the group's members can communicate with each other outside meetings.
