Notes on test migration to my Debian development server (practice only, I'm not saying we MUST use Debian. Flame OFF.) Server was Debian unstable, about 3 weeks out of date as of Feb. 12, 2006. 1 Add the hostnames to my oddones DNS 1 Put the twiki2 and html directories in /home/gnhlug.org 1 Merge the httpd.conf VirtualHost sections into my existing httpd.conf (with changes for oddones hostnames and host IP) 1 Test - missing libraries (perl diff stuff) 1 apt-get install libalgorithm-diff-perl libtext-diff-perl (the two TWiki dependencies not installed on that system) 1 Test - viewable but .htaccess for editing broken. 1 chown -R www-data:www-data /home/gnhlug.org 1 Test - appears to be working, I made one random edit with my username to confirm. Note: Bruce Dawson commented: I'm a bit concerned... there was some data missing on the Org.WebChanges page. I'm not sure why it would be missing, or how it became missing, but there are a lot of changes missing on the page. We should probably do a more thorough analysis of the site though. Especially with the plug ins (maybe some more perl modules are needed). I just didn't have time. -- %MAINWEB%.DrewVanZandt - 13 Feb 2006
