For our new InternetServer, BenScott has a 1U rackmount server with some fairly nice specs he is willing to donate to the cause of GNHLUG.

The server uses an Intel SRMK2 base platform. See: http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/server/srmk2/

I don't have the thing in front of me to check right now, but IIRC, the hardware details are:

  • Chassis: Rack-mount, 1U ("pizza box"), AC power
  • CPU: 2 x 1 GHz Pentium III CPUs
  • RAM: 1 GB, 133 MHz, ECC
  • HDD: 2 x 18 GB, SCA 80-pin, SCSI, hot swap
  • NIC: 2 x Intel 82559 (10/100)
  • Slots: 2 x 64-bit, 66 MHz, PCI, both open
  • VGA: ATI Rage XL, 4 MB, onboard
  • Ports: PS/2 keyboard & mouse; 2 x USB; 9-pin RS-232
  • SCSI: Adaptec AIC-7899, Ultra160, 2 channels
  • Removable media drives: FDD; CD reader
  • No free drive bays
