Despite the name, GNHLUG is about more than just Linux. (You might say that Linux itself is about more than just Linux, too.) Anything to do with Open Source/Free Software is also on-topic and quite welcome. Examples include the Apache web server, the XFree86 display server, and any part of the GNU Project. Given the history of Linux, the GNHLUG topic space also includes Unix and Unix clones and derivatives, including the various BSDs.

Given the history of Linux, the GNHLUG topic space also includes Unix and Unix clones and derivatives, including the various BSDs. Even FreeSoftware for "other operating systems" (such as those named after portals or fruit) is welcome. Given the demographic of our current membership, occasional forays into general technology, current affairs, and/or politics also happen. We're nothing if not plural. Don't be afraid to start something (just ask Linus).
