See also: MeetingMinutes05Feb2004 This so-called "agenda" was created by shamelessly plagiarizing Main.MadDog's "food for thought" message to gnhlug-org (dated 5 Feb 2004, <TT>Message-Id: <20040205211757.C538F428D4@shamet.li.org></TT>). * most people come to GNHLUG meetings for * comradery * community * knowledge-sharing with peers * interesting presentations * meeting other "local geeks" * several people did not like meetings that talked about organization or "promoting Linux" or "politics" or "philosophy" * we have a range of talent and knowledge from beginner to "It is hard to tell me anything new" * no one has heaps of time * no one likes traveling a lot * some people might like weekend "big meetings", so they can have the time to travel to them and back * People liked the "fix and break" idea. I would prefer to have more of "how to set up and tune", but that is just me. * Linux is more than just the kernel...it is perl, python, Apache, embedded Linux * FUN is definitely part of the package * Some people are willing to volunteer, but it has to be in manageable chunks of time, and a directed function. * We have often talked about doing things like video taping talks and putting them up on the net, but somehow it never gets done.
