---+ GNHLUG Mailing Lists GNHLUG provides several e-mail mailing lists, for discussion and posting announcements. The major attraction here is by far the [[http://mail.gnhlug.org/mailman/listinfo/gnhlug-discuss][General Discussion]] list. ---++ List Information Click any of the following links for more information, including subscription information and archives. * [[http://mail.gnhlug.org/mailman/listinfo/gnhlug-discuss][General Discussion]] * [[http://mail.gnhlug.org/mailman/listinfo/gnhlug-announce][Announcements]] * [[http://mail.gnhlug.org/mailman/listinfo/gnhlug-jobs][Job Seekers and Offers]] * [[http://mail.gnhlug.org/mailman/listinfo/gnhlug-org][GNHLUG Organization and Planning]] Note that when you subscribe, a confirmation message will be sent to the e-mail address you provided. You will need to respond to that message before your subscription will be activated. ---++ List Archives Messages sent to all of the above mailing lists are archived automatically. Archives can be reached from each mailing list's information page (click the links above). Please note that these archives were started Thursday 8 August 2002; messages posted prior to that date will not be available in the above archives. Messages sent to these mailing lists may also be archived at [[http://www.mail-archive.com][The Mail Archive]]. Many messages posted prior to the above 8 Aug 2002 inception date can be found there. Another archive location (as of 8 Feb 2005) is at [[http://news.gmane.org/gmane.org.user-groups.linux.gnhlug][GMane]], ---+++ Searching the local archives John Abreau contributed the following message about searching the GNHLUG archives... (Of course, substitute "gnhlug.org" for "blu.org".) <pre> On Wed, 2004-06-23 at 10:29, Randy Edwards wrote: > Please forgive this seemingly stupid question, but I'm not up to speed > on MailMan. > > Is there a way to search the GNHLUG mailing list archive online or do I > have to d/l the 26MB file and grep it? The search pattern linux inurl:/pipermail/ site:gnhlug.org should find every message in the list archives that contains the word "linux". On the BLU site, I set up a search box to automate this: <form method="get" action="http://www.google.com/search"> <input type="text" name="q" size=31 maxlength=255 valie="" /> <select name="q" size=1> <option value="inurl:pipermail/announce">announce</option> <option value="inurl:pipermail/discuss">discuss</option> </select> <input type="submit" name="sa" value="Search Google" /> <input type="hidden" name="as_sitesearch" value="blu.org" /> <input type="hidden" name="num" value="100" /> </form> I found this in the O'Reilly "Google Hacks" book a while back. </pre>
